Our Terpenes
Myrcene
Myrcene is known for its relaxing, sedating, and pain relieving benefits. It has been shown to change the permeability of cell membranes, which allows for more absorption of cannabinoids by the brain. One of the most powerful terpenes, Myrcene is infamous for its knockout, couchlock effect. Myrcene has an earthy, clove-like odor and can be found in hops, basil, thyme, mangoes, and most varieties of cannabis. It has the ability to reduce muscle spasms and inflammation, alleviate insomnia, and naturally relieve pain. Myrcene is included in Pink Lemonaide for its soothing benefits, and is counterbalanced by D-Limonene to prevent fatigue.
D-Limonene
D-Limonene is an energizing and uplifting terpene which combats depression and anxiety, while enhancing synergy and absorption of other terpenes. It is found in citrus rinds, juniper, rosemary, and peppermint, and is responsible for the aroma and effects of such cannabis strains as Super Lemon Haze, Jack Herer, and Lemon Skunk. D-Limonene is responsible for the creative, mood stimulating effects of Wu-Tangie, and is one of the main terpene components of most Sativa strains.
Citral
Found in lemongrass, ginger, and sweet basil. One of many citrus terpenes found in the plant world. Known to have sedative properties in addition to antiviral and antibacterial uses. Has a lime-like citrus smell. When combined with Myrcene, the sedative effects of both are increased.
Geraniol
Sweet, summery and floral with a Rose nose, geraniol is how a honeybee tells the hive it just pollenated from sex. It is anti-fungal and antibacterial, relieves nausea and stress and is widely used by flavor scientists to capture the essence of the fruit kingdom.
Linalool
A terpene responsible for the familiar aroma of Lavender, Linalool has been used for thousands of years as a relaxant and sleep aid through ingestion, combustion, and aromatherapy. Consistently found in purple variety strains such as Grand Daddy Purple and God’s Gift, Linalool’s presence is generally identified with strong Indica strains. In Pink Lemonaide, Linalool combines perfectly with Myrcene to relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, insomnia, inflammation, epileptic seizures, and pain.
A-Pinene
The main terpene in found in pine trees, rosemary, and basil is also responsible for many of the pine notes and flavors of cannabis strains. A-Pinene serves many purposes including that of a pain reliever, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. It is useful for sufferers of chronic pain and can inhibit cancer cell growth. A-Pinene has also been shown to aid in the reduction of memory loss(memory retention), with the ability to enhance overall brain function. This contributes to the alertness and mentally stimulating effects of Key Lime. Common strains found to include A-Pinene are Jack Herer, Chemdawg, Trainwreck, and Super Silver Haze.
B-Pinene
B-Pinene is found in rosemary, eucalyptus, pine trees, and sage, and is known for its fresh pine aroma. This terpene has been found to contain many memory enhancing, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer benefits. Its inclusion in SoL OG adds the familiar sweet pine taste so familiar with OG strains. Some notable strains with high concentrations of Pinene include Trainwreck, Silver Haze, Jack Herer, and White Widow.
B-Caryophyyllene
β-Caryophyllene gives cannabis a spicy, earthy aroma and provides gastroprotective and anti-inflammatory support. It is responsible for the bold taste and aroma found in black pepper, cloves, hops, and echinacea. β-Caryophyllene acts as an antibacterial and antiseptic, and eases nerve pain, ulcers, inflammation, and more. β-Caryophyllene is responsible for many of the non-psychoactive, medical benefits of Wu-Tangie.
Terpinolene
